Nathaniel Mackey is the author of several books of poetry, fiction and criticism, most recently Splay Anthem, Atet A.D. and Paracritical Hinge: Essays, Talks, Notes, Interviews. Bass Cathedral, volume four of his ongoing epistolary fiction From a Broken Bottle Traces of Perfume Still Emanate, is forthcoming from New Directions in 2008. He teaches at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
